Men: Walmsley running in 1st, followed by Lee Grantham (GBR) in 2nd place, Huuv van Noorden(NED) in 3rd place.
Way and Buud are running 4th and 5th. Walmsley has a 2.5 minutes lead on Grantham.
Women: Herron is leading the women's field. Mochizuki in 2nd place followed by Berg. Zakrzewski is in 4th place followed by Zhalybina.
Herron hasa 4 minute lead.

Women: Herron leading 42.15 for 20km followed by Mochizuki in 2nd place, Berg a minute beind and Zhalybina and Jo Zakrzewski (GBR) in 5th place.

11:18am: 20 kms
Men: James Walmsley (USA) 1:14:22. He has a 80 second lead on Buud and Way running with Larkin and Tatsuya Itagaki (JPN) in the chase group.

Men's: Jonas Buud (SWE) and Steven Way (GBR) are in the lead group of 6 and they went around in just over 38 minutes for the first 10 km.
Women's: Camille Herron (USA) in the lead with Chiyuki Mochizuki (JPN). They are followedby Kajsa Berg (SWE) and Marina Zhalybina (RUS). Barbara Mallmann (GER) is running in 5th place.

8:56am: Top runners in the field... Vasiliy Larkin (RUS), Jonas Buud (SWE0 and Steven Way (GBR) in the men's field. Camille Herron (USA) leads the women´s followed by Chiyuki Mochizuki (JPN) and Jo Zakrzewski (GBR).

Pronti al via della tre giorni sportiva ad Annecy in francia, in occasione della Tecnica MaXi Raceche nle suo palinsesoto accoglie sette diverse gare su distanze e con dsilivelli altimetrici che spaziano dalla diffcioltà estrema a quella più mild per i trailer meno esperti o meno allenati.

Sono oltre 7000 gli iscritti. Naturalmente la gara clou sarà quella sulla distnza maxi (85 chilometri e 5200 metri di dislivello positivo) che, quest'anno accoglie anche il 5° Campionato del Mondo IAU Trail. Per quest'ultimo, gli iscritti, in rappresentanza di 39 nazioni, hanno raggiunto la quota record di 287 atleti di cui 109 le donne.

The 7000 bib numbers are ready and the 14,000 chips in place. Still waiting to be unrolled are3500 meters of banners and the 2000 sections of caution taped to be placed along the course the day before the races and removed the day after. Not to mention the 780 metal barriers!

The 4 aid stations expect the first runners on Saturday, May 30, to arrive as early as 05:15 on top of Mount Semnoz, the first aid station of the 4. Stocked and ready are a total of 25,000 liters of water in 4000 bottles, 6800 bottles of Gatorade, 2800 cans of Pepsi, 100 bottles of orange juice, 180kg of salty foods (cashews, peanuts), and of course much more.

Four-hundred volunteers are ready and waiting to stand at one of 800 posts; in just 3 days the starting gun for the first race will fire....

The Tecnica-MaXi-Race: an event designed "by runners for all runners". For the last several months, event organizers have been refining each piece of the puzzle. The 2015 Tecnica-MaXi-Race, with its 7 race formats, will host the 5th IAU Trail World Championships. What an incredible challenge to undertake.

As the hours count down to the start, Stéphane Agnoli, race director, explains, "We arebeginning to stress just a little, but our energy is focused first and foremost on the runners. These races are for them. Experienced or novice, the goal is to have fun, to enjoy the amazing trails and landscapes while pushing one's personal limits. That said, we are determined to ensure that volunteers are able to experience the event live; this is also their event, their race. If both runners and volunteers are happy, everything else will fall into place, and the entire organizing team will be content with the result."

Trail running, an activity, a sport, a societal trend. The 3 days of races around Lake Annecy echo the growing popularity of trail running in France and around the world. With a total of 51 nations represented, a lineup of elite runners competing for 4 world championship titles, 39 national delegations present, and 7000 everyday runners from all walks of life, all will run together on the same trails as a family, with friends, for a cause, or for a medal; this outdoor race will be a true celebration!

Follow the event. The website now has a special "live coverage" event homepage that will allow everyone, spectators or companions, to follow the event from start to finish. Live broadcasting will begin on Thursday night with the opening ceremony for the World Championships, followed by racecoverage for every runner and other practical information throughout the entire three days.

There will be 287 athletes representing 39 federations who will be toeing the line in Annecy, France on 30th May 2015. Defending world champion Nathalie Mauclair (FRA) will be at the start line. Ricky Lightfoot (GBR) winner at the 4th edition of the championships will not be in Annecy.

The 5 th IAU Trail World Championships are taking place in France.

The event will take place in Annecy, France on 30th May 2015.

The 85km run will be hosted at the same site as the Tecnica MaXi race and will take runners over a 5200m of vertical gain.

The race has attracted a record number of participants in the IAU Trail World Championships. There will be 178 men and 109 women representing 39 countries.

The 287 participants mark a new record for competitors in the trail world championships.

Sebastien Spehler (FRA) leads the men’s field having won last year’s MaXi Race. He has already won the Trail du Wurzel and Trail du Petit Ballon.

Luis Alberto Hernando (ESP) and Alex Varner (USA) have had a good season and are amongst the leaders lining up at the world champs. Hernando won the Transvulcania earlier in the month and Varner won Lake Sonoma 50 Mile last month.

In the Women’s field, Nathalie Mauclair (FRA) defending world champion is at the starting field. She won her last race Grand Raid Reunion in October 2014. Caroline Chaverot (FRA) is the defending Maxi race champion and will once again start this year to claim victory. Krissy Moehl (USA) a regular top performer in the United States has had a great start to the season having finished 2nd at the Gorge Waterfalls will be at the start line as well.

In addition to individual titles on the line there are team competitions as well.

The team atmosphere does elevate the excitement of the championships as team points translate to interesting team dynamics. Race start time is 3:30am.

E' giunto alla sua conclusione il Campionato del Mondo 24 ore su strada della IAU, andato in scena a Torino nel circuito ricavato all'interno del Parco Ruffini, tra l'11 e il 12 aprile 2015.

Al Campionato del Mondo, alla sua 11^ edizione, era abbinato il Campionato europeo 24 ore su strada 2015.

Vincitori del IAU World Championships 2015 sono stati il tedesco Florian Reus con 263,899 km percorsi, e la statunitense Katalin Nagy (244,495 km).

Il podio maschile del Mondiale é stato interamente europeo: sul secondo gradino del podio, infatti, è salito il polacco Pawel Szynal (261,181 km), mentre al terzo posto si è piazzato il britannico Robbie Britton (261.140 km).

La gara femminile invece ha visto il predominio USA, con la conquista anche del secondo posto della classifica con Tracy Falbo (239,740 km), mentre al terzo posto si è piazzata la svedese Maria Jansson (238,964 km).

Questo Campionato del Mondo mostra sicuramente un elevazione del livello tecnico sia da parte degli uomini sia da parte delle donne, anche soltanto considerando gli importi chilometrici dei primi dieci nella classifica generale maschile e femminile (ed anche con l'emergere di nazioni che sino a questo momento non avevano prodotto grandi campioni di ultramaratona.

Gli Italiani, purtroppo, non sono andati secondo le aspettative, considerando che il nostro Ivan Cudin, uomo di punta della nostra delegazione nazionale con un personal best di oltre 260 km era uno dei favoriti in gara, ma ciò nonostante si sono difesi bene e hanno lottato per un posto dignitoso nella classifica a squadre.
Del resto, c'è chi sale e chi scende: le variabili implicate in una gara di 24 ore sono talmente tante che è impossibile poter fare dei pronostici attendibili, soltanto sulla base delle prestazioni precedentemente realizzate, senza che - al tempo stesso - ci sia un valido ricambio generazionale.

Per esempio, anche il team giapponese che, solitamente, sia al maschile sia al femminile si è particolarmente distinto, è stato quest'anno in tono decisamente minore, rimanendo ben lontano dalla zona premiazioni.

Come si sa, la 24 ore di Torino ospita anche una gara "open", aperta a tutti gli atleti, praticanti di ultramaratona, seppure in numero limitato in considerazione delle caratteristiche del percorso di gara e del numero di atleti impegnati nel Campionato del mondo ed europeo IAU 24 ore su strada.
